Governor Parnell Mourns the Loss of Fort Richardson Soldiers
September 28, 2010 - Juneau, Alaska - Governor Sean Parnell offered his condolences to the family and friends of two Fort Richardson soldiers who were killed by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan. Private First Class Jaysine P.S. Petree and Private First Class William B. Dawson died Friday.
"Sandy and I were saddened to learn of the loss of Private First Class Petree and Private First Class Dawson," Governor Parnell said. "We join other Alaskans in honoring their bravery and dedication. Our thoughts and prayers are with their families, friends and loved ones during this difficult time."
Petree, 19, of Yigo, Guam, and Dawson, 20, of Tunica, Miss., were assigned to the 109th Transportation Company, 17th Combat Sustainment Battalion, 3rd Maneuver Enhancement Brigade, Fort Richardson. Both were motor transport operators.
