GCI Introduces 22 Megabit Broadband Service
ANCHORAGE – GCI customers can now access the Internet with the fastest speeds available in Alaska with the introduction of new Xtreme XL cable modem plans.
The Xtreme XL Power Internet package features 22 Megabits per second download speeds on the fastest and most reliable broadband network in the state and provides over 200 percent more speed than any other service available in Alaska.
“We have always provided Alaskans with the fastest Internet services available and are pleased to provide even faster options to our customers,” said GCI’s Vice President and General Manager of Consumer Services Paul Landes. “These speeds were traditionally only available to commercial customers. We can now make these speeds available to everyone as a result of the significant upgrades we have made to our broadband network.”
The new Xtreme XL plans provide customers with different speed options ranging from 10Mbps on the low-end to 22Mbps on the high-end and also offer the fastest upload speeds available in Alaska at up to 2 Megabits per second. In addition, the plans include significantly more usage in response to customer demand and changing broadband usage needs.
Pricing for the new Xtreme XL plans start at $44.99 per month and are available to customers on GCI’s Ultimate Package. The Xtreme XL plans are available in Anchorage, Fairbanks, Juneau, Matanuska-Susitna Valley, Kenai, Soldotna, Ketchikan, Petersburg, Seward, Sitka, Valdez and Wrangell.
