Dana Stabenow's Roadhouse Report for September 2010
though not dead
Counting down, five months to publication day of Though Not Dead, the 18th Kate Shugak novel! Click here to pre-order your copy on Amazon today.
Under the heading of "If It Ain't Broke, Don't Fix It," for the third year in a row we will be launching the book on publication day from the Poisoned Pen Bookstore. Which means I'll be in Scottsdale signing my little heart out on February 1st. Join me to get your book signed on day of publication!
Beginning October 1 I will be giving away a free ARC (advance reading copy) the first of every month for four months. All you have to do to be eligible to win is click here to subscribe to the Roadhouse Report. Winners are randomly generated from the members of the Known Readers Club. Said randomness results from alchemical calculation and Scrabble tiles. I'll tell you about it some random Friday.
Watch my website, friend me on Facebook, and follow me on Twitter for more information as it happens.
a cold day for murder
Seventeen years after it was published as a paperback original, the first Kate Shugak novel, the Edgar-award winning A Cold Day for Murder , is being published in hardcover for the first time by Poisoned Pen Press. It will publish on February 1, 2011--yes, the very same day as Kate 18. Get a load of the fabulous cover by Patrick Hoi Yan Cheung. Love the blood leaching down into the word "murder" in the title.
Click here to pre-order your copy on Amazon today, or plan on joining me at the Poisoned Pen Bookstore on February 1st, where I will be delighted to sign Kate1 and Kate18 both, in a two-fer just for you.
I'll be interviewing guest of honor Laurie R. King at Bouchercon this year, she of Kate Martinelli and Mary Russell fame. Gilbert and Sullivan may be involved. I'm just saying... Join us in San Francisco for the biggest, baddest crime fiction convention of them all!
I will be teaching a "Promoting Your Book in Your Pajamas" workshop at 49 Writers Writing Center from 6-9pm on Wednesday, November 17th. Go here to register, and to look at the rest of the fall course schedule.
the kate shugak tv series
Can't tell you what's going on. Sorry, Evergreen Films has me on a short leash. If you're new to this story, click here to catch up. All I can say they are working very hard, things are happening behind the scenes, and that I hope to be able to share some good news with you soon.
When that happens, I'll be sending out a special newsletter, and of course I'll tweet it, post it on Facebook, and blog about it on my website. Not to mention climb up on my roof and shout it to the four winds. Keep your fingers crossed!
