DOT&PF Announces Weekend Lane Restrictions for Glenn Highway at Eagle River

(ANCHORAGE, Alaska) - The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) announced this morning that the Glenn Highway, between the North Eagle River interchange and the South Eagle River interchange, will face lane restrictions during the next two weekends for a culvert installation project.

The restrictions are scheduled as follows:

Beginning 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 10 and extending until 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 13, the southbound lanes of the Glenn Highway, between the South Eagle River interchange and the North Eagle River interchange will be closed. Traffic will be detoured to one of the northbound lanes, reducing traffic on the Glenn Highway to single lane traffic in each direction.

Beginning 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 17 and extending until 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 20, the northbound lanes of the Glenn Highway, between the South Eagle River interchange and the North Eagle River interchange will be closed. Traffic will be detoured to one of the southbound lanes, reducing traffic on the Glenn Highway to single lane traffic in each direction.

This schedule is weather dependent and may be postponed, if necessary, until the weekend of Friday, Sept. 24.

DOT&PF is asking that all drivers use extreme caution when traveling through the work zone. Expect delays and reduced speed limits.
