POW/MIA Ceremony Honors Dedication, Sacrifice
ELMENDORF AIR FORCE BASE, Alaska - Elmendorf Airmen will honor American Prisoners of War and Missing in Action during a ceremony at 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18 at Heritage Park.Col. Marc Luiken, vice commander of 11th Air Force, and Sen. Mark Begich are scheduled guest speakers. Special guests include Alaska Lt. Gov. Craig Campbell and his wife, Ann-Marie Campbell. Other highlights include a tribute by the "Rolling Thunder" veteran's organization.
Observances of National POW/MIA Recognition Day are held across the country on military installations, ships at sea, state capitols, schools and veterans' facilities.
The event is open to anybody with a Department of Defense identification card.
