Elmendorf Airmen to Honor 9/11 Anniversary
ELMENDORF AIR FORCE BASE, Alaska - Elmendorf Airmen will honor the memory of the more than 3,000 innocent people who lost their lives during the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks during a ceremony at 8:20 a.m. Friday at Heritage Park.
Lt. Gen. Dana T. Atkins, commander of Alaskan Command, is the scheduled guest speaker. Other highlights include an F-15 missing-man formation flyover, posting of the U.S. flag by a five-member emergency services team, and a moment of silence to remember those who died.
The event is open to anybody with a Department of Defense identification card.
