Anchorage, Alaska – CIRI Alaska Tourism Corporation announced the hiring of three new staff members to the company.
Dawn Venters has joined CIRI Alaska Tourism as sales manager for the marine division. Specifically, Venters represents Kenai Fjords Tours and Kenai Fjords Wilderness Lodge in the Alaska tourism market, and assists in sales for CATC’s other properties, Seward Windsong Lodge, Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge and Alaska Heritage Tours.
Venters was previously with Visit Anchorage in the Convention Meeting Sales and Service Department and for many years prior in the Sales Department at Alyeska Resort, bringing over 18 years of Alaska tourism industry to the company.
As an active member of the Anchorage performing arts community, Venters has played for over 21 years in the String Bass section of the Anchorage Symphony Orchestra, a number of orchestral performances with the Anchorage Opera, and to top that off, live band and acoustical performances alongside local musician and folk artist Melissa Mitchell.
With her own true homegrown love of Alaska, Venters has raised her three daughters with the same fondness she holds for the beauty and nature that surround us every day.
Cameron Morrison has been hired as CIRI Alaska Tourism’s lead reservations agent for the Anchorage reservations call center and Alaska Heritage Tours office. Morrison worked as a seasonal reservations agent in 2014 and brings to the company years of supervisory retail experience. A lifelong Alaskan and former resident of Fairbanks, Alaska, Morrison loves to travel throughout Alaska and share those experiences with visitors planning trips to Alaska.
Morrison is also a dedicated artist and actor and has starred in many plays and musical performances in Anchorage, including Mr. Whitekeys’ Whale Fat Follies this past summer as well as the upcoming “Christmas in Spenard” this holiday season.
Dan McDonald has rejoined CIRI Alaska Tourism as Revenue Control Supervisor in the Anchorage office. Dan has 20 years of history with the Kenai Fjords Tours in Seward and CIRI Alaska Tourism Corporation, most recently serving as the Director of Marine Operations for CIRI Alaska Tourism.
In 2012 Dan took a “Breather” from his position and moved to the Seattle area. While in Washington, Dan worked remotely on several projects for CIRI Alaska Tourism. Additionally, Dan and his wife Valerie welcomed their first child to the family. Feeling rejuvenated, Dan and his family returned to the Anchorage area. Dan is now involved with the CIRI Alaska Tourism team as they work to develop a new Central Reservations system for the tourism division.
