Sen. President Huggins Pleased with Alaska Pipeline Decision
Nikiski chosen as destination for Alaska gas liquefaction terminal
Wasilla — Senate President Charlie Huggins (R-Wasilla) welcomed the decision today by the Alaska Pipeline Project to route the North Slope gas pipeline to Nikiski.
“I am very pleased Nikiski was chosen as the destination for the Alaska gas liquefaction plant,” said Sen. Huggins. “This is a major milestone for our state and I am optimistic we’ll see gas moving off the North Slope for the benefit of all Alaskans. This is only the beginning of a larger plan to bring affordable energy to the people of this great state.”
The 28th Alaska Legislature passed HB 4, sponsored by Rep. Mike Hawker and Speaker Mike Chenault, to support the Alaska Gasline Development Corporation (AGDC) to get Alaska’s natural gas into the hands of Alaskans.
