National Day on Writing celebration returns to UAF

The University of Alaska Fairbanks will host "Use Your Words: A Celebration of Writing" Saturday, Oct. 19, from 11 a.m.- 3 p.m. in the Murie Building on the UAF campus. The event is the second annual UAF celebration of the National Day on Writing and is free, family-friendly and open to the public.

The event will feature interactive sessions for writers of all ages, including:

--"Facts of Fiction: True Facts in your Favorite Fiction"

--"Lit Happens! The Digital Archive of Literacy Narratives"

--"To Simile or Not to Simile"

--"The Main Dis-Course: Writing about Food and Heritage"

--"Message in a Bottle: Take One, Make One" (for kids)

--"Make a Prezi! Memorable Storytelling with Zooming Presentation Software"

--"NaNoWriMo"

--"Dumbledore's Army"

"Use Your Words" has been coordinated by the UAF English Department and is sponsored by the Office of the Provost and the UAF People's Endowment. Additional information is available by calling the UAF English Department at 907-474-7193.
