Congressman Young Announces New Press Secretary
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Alaska Congressman Don Young today announced the addition of Matthew Shuckerow to his Washington, D.C. office, who will be responsible for internal and external communications and media relations in his capacity as Press Secretary. Matt joins the Congressman’s office following the departure of Mike Anderson, who recently returned to Alaska to join the Dan Sullivan for Senate campaign as Communications Director.
Following nearly three years of service in Senator Lisa Murkowski’s D.C. office, Matt brings to Rep. Young’s office a long list of experience from the Senate, most recently serving as Murkowski’s Press Secretary, and before that as her Legislative Correspondent, Intern Coordinator, Staff Assistant, and College Intern.
Born in Kodiak, AK and raised in Anchorage, AK, Matt is a graduate of A.J. Dimond High School and a 2010 graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno where he studied Journalism.
“I welcome Matt aboard and I look forward to working with him. His knowledge and knowhow of Alaska, combined with his extensive Senate background will certainly prove helpful in his new role as my new press secretary,” said Rep. Young. “I look forward to Alaskans getting to know him better.”
