Alaska Food Resource Working Group to meet on Nov. 4
(Anchorage, AK) – The Alaska Food Resource Working Group will hold its inaugural meeting from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 4, in Room 602 of the Robert B. Atwood Building, located at 550 West 7th Avenue in Anchorage.
The Alaska Food Resource Working Group was created by Administrative Order No. 265 to recommend policies and measures to increase the purchase and consumption of local farm products and wild seafood. Its members include eight state agencies, led by the Department of Natural Resources. The working group has been tasked to work with the Alaska public and stakeholders to promote a healthy food system in the state.

The agenda includes an overview of Alaska’s food systems, the role played by state and federal agencies, and the tasks laid out in the administrative order. The meeting also will include a public comment period.
