Mayor Sullivan Extends Logo Contest Deadline, adds Incentive

In 2015, Anchorage will commemorate the historic land auction that established the township of Anchorage one hundred years ago. The community is preparing for many celebrations and educational opportunities to honor this special anniversary.

Beginning in April 2013 with the Commissioning of the U.S.S Anchorage, the schedule will include a series of existing events and anniversaries leading up to the culmination in July 2015. The Anchorage Centennial will provide a significant educational and economic impact and a legacy for future generations to enjoy.

“The Anchorage Centennial Committee is now forming and with that, marketing materials need to be created. The deadline has been extended and a $500 cash award is offered to the Adult Division winner of the official Anchorage Centennial Logo Design Contest,” said Mayor Sullivan.

Interested artists can submit their designs with two categories to choose from, one for adult and another for youth. The entry form can be found at AnchorageCentennial.com.

The winning logos will be a part of this historical, once in a centennial event, and will be used on all marketing materials.
The deadline to submit your artwork is November 2, 2012 at 4:00pm for the adult division and March 1, 2013 for the Youth Division.
