FCVB and ATIA Host Visitor Industry State Legislature Candidate Forum

(Fairbanks, Alaska) – The Fairbanks Chapter of the Alaska Travel Industry Association and the Fairbanks Convention and Visitors Bureau invite the public to attend the 2012 Visitor Industry State Legislature Candidate Forum on Thursday, October 25, 2012 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Gold Room of the Westmark Hotel and Conference Center. Lunch is $15 person. RSVP by 5:00 p.m. on October 23rd by calling the FCVB at 459-3791. There is no cost for interested citizens who opt to attend and not each lunch.

Representatives from the visitor industry will talk about the successes, challenges, and opportunities that they face. And candidates will be allowed to ask questions from these industry representatives as well as answer questions posed to them. Candidates for State House and State Senate are expected to participate.

Program

12:00 p.m. — Meet-and-Greet and Lunch

12:15 p.m. — Welcome /Candidate Introductions /Visitor Industry Overview

Each Candidate will have 40-second timeframe to provide a brief introduction and provide highlights as to why they are running for office.

12:30 p.m. — Candidates Pose Questions to the Visitor Industry Panel

Each Candidate will have an opportunity to ask one question to the panel of Visitor Industry representatives who respond in a 40-second timeframe.

12:45 p.m. — Visitor Industry Panel Poses Questions to Candidates

Each Candidate will have a 40-second timeframe to respond to a question from the panel of Visitor Industry representatives. These questions will be provided to candidates in advance.

1:00 p.m. — Questions from the Audience

Each Candidate will have a 40-second timeframe to provide answers to audience-directed questions. These questions will NOT be provided in advance.

1:15 p.m. — Candidate Statements/Closing Comments

Each Candidate will have a 40-second timeframe to provide closing comments to the audience.

1:30 p.m. — Conclusion of Forum
