Earlier this year, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) imposed cleaner fuel restrictions on large ships traveling within 200 miles of the coasts of the U.S. and Canada.
These new restrictions have generated concern from the local cruise industry, as well as several lawmakers, who argue that they will raise costs for vacationers and Alaskans who depend on oceangoing vessels for basic goods.
Dennis McLerran, EPA's Alaska Regional Administrator, will discuss this and other regulations enforced in the state and how they could affect local businesses moving forward.
Cost - Members: $22 ($25 at door), Students: $24, Non-members: $30
