AIDEA Finances National Guard Armory Expansion
(Anchorage) – The Alaska Industrial Development and Export Authority (AIDEA) is pleased to announce that it is funding the construction of a state-of-the-art expansion to the National Guard Armory on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson (JBER).
The Camp Denali Readiness Center Addition Project includes a new 29,000 square foot facility, relocation and replacement of an antenna array, a new access road and expanded parking. AIDEA will own the project, which will be operated by the Alaska Department of Military &Veterans Affairs (DMVA).
“We have great respect and appreciation for the military in Alaska, and are very pleased and proud to partner with DMVA on this project,” said AIDEA Executive Director Ted Leonard. “The expansion of the existing Armory will not only help DMVA carry out its vital missions, this project will also produce long-term benefits to our economy.”
The Camp Denali Readiness Center Addition Project will be constructed at a total estimated cost of $15 million and will open in late 2013.
The Alaska Industrial Development and Export Authority is a public corporation of the state. AIDEA’s purpose is to promote, develop and advance the general prosperity and economic welfare of the people of Alaska by providing various means of financing and investment for Alaskan businesses, projects and infrastructure.
