Wells Fargo salutes Alaska Teacher of the Year Lorrie Heagy on more than 100 ATMs across the state
JUNEAU, Oct. 7, 2011 – >From now until January 3, 2012, Wells Fargo is honoring 2011 Alaska Teacher of the Year Lorrie Heagy, a Glacier Valley Elementary School music teacher, with a congratulatory message on most of its 120 ATMs across the state. Wells Fargo’s ATM users also can learn more about Heagy’s teaching achievements by simply pressing a button on the screen. An estimated 80,000 people will view the ATM screen honoring Heagy. “At Wells Fargo, we believe it’s important to celebrate great teachers who encourage, support and inspire young Alaskans,” said Richard Strutz, Wells Fargo Alaska regional president. “We congratulate Ms. Heagy and thank all of our teachers for their dedication to growing our future leaders in Alaska.” Heagy teaches music and library classes at Glacier Valley Elementary and has been an educator for 19 years. She was named “Outstanding Teacher of the Year” by the Juneau School District and an Abreu Fellow at New England Conservatory. Heagy studied Chinese and taught English in Taiwan for one year.
