Sen. Begich to Address AFN Saturday Morning
Also hosting veterans listening session, youth celebration
U.S. Sen. Mark Begich is speaking to the annual Alaska Federation of Natives (AFN) Convention in Anchorage on Saturday morning. Sen. Begich will talk about the many success stories in rural Alaska and also announce initiatives he has taken to support the success of Alaska Natives and rural communities across the state.
In addition to his speech, Sen. Begich is also hosting a reception celebrating Alaska Native youth on Friday night and a veterans listening session Saturday morning.

Hosted by Sen. Begich and Cook Inlet Tribal Council, the event will include Olympian Callan Chythlook-Sifsof, Pamyua, Aku-Matu, Iditarod musher Pete Kaiser and more.

Veterans Listening Session

Sen. Begich will be joined by John Garcia, Deputy Assistant Secretary, VA Office of Public and Intergovernmental Affairs; Susan Yeager, VA Alaska Rural Health Program Coordinator; and Alex Spector, Director, VA Alaska Health Care System.
