Interior Legislators to Hold Public Meeting on Proposed Veteran’s Cemetery
Thursday, Representative David Guttenberg will host a public meeting with Senator Joe Thomas and Representative Bob Miller (all D-Fairbanks) to discuss the new land proposed for the Interior Veterans Cemetery. The Legislators are inviting Interior area veterans to share their thoughts on the new proposed cemetery location, forty acres off Goldmine Trail Road near the Steese Highway.
"A new cemetery for Interior veterans is well-deserved and long overdue. Alaskan vets and their family members are asking me to please hurry," said Representative Guttenberg. "We need comments to see if the state should pursue this land for construction next summer."
When: Thursday, October 27th from 6-8pm
Where: Noel Wien Library Auditorium, 1215 Cowles Street
What: Public Meeting on Interior Veterans Cemetery
The purpose of the meeting is to gather comments on the proposed location. The Department of Military and Veteran's Affairs will give a presentation on the land, design, and process.
