Costello’s DCCED Subcommittee to Take Public Testimony, Listen to Admin. Next Monday
Tuesday, October 25, 2011, Anchorage, Alaska – Rep. Mia Costello announced today that the House Finance Subcommittee she chairs is looking into the proposed fee increase for renewing Alaska real estate licenses.
Costello, an Anchorage Republican, chairs the Department of Commerce budget subcommittee. The hearing, scheduled for next Monday, Oct. 31, at 1:00 p.m., will allow officials from the Alaska Real Estate Commission and Dept. of Commerce, Community & Economic Development to explain the proposed increase from $275 to $685
Public testimony will be taken, limited to three minutes per testifier, following the invited presenters.
Costello says the meeting is timed specifically to allow the public another avenue for providing testimony on the proposal ahead of the final decision by the department. While the department’s public comment period closed today, October 25, 2011, at 4:30 p.m., DCCED is expected to decide whether or not to approve the proposed increase after this meeting.
