Arctic Slope Regional Corporation Tops List of Distinguished Local Companies
Arctic Slope Regional Corporation is honored to be recognized by the Alaska State Chamber of Commerce, Alaska Business Monthly magazine and local business leaders as the top Alaska-owned and operated corporation. This is the 17th consecutive year that ASRC has ranked #1 on the „Top 49ers‟ list, based on the prior year‟s gross revenues. The list was made public today during a luncheon at the Dena‟ina Civic and Convention Center in downtown Anchorage.
"Given the uncertainty of the national and even global economy, this really was an achievement for all of the businesses on the list," said Rex A. Rock, Sr., ASRC president and CEO. "In many ways, 2010 was a historic year for this corporation and I look forward to exploring additional ways of providing benefits for our shareholders in the future. For all of the other companies on this list, I congratulate them as well."
In 2010, ASRC‟s revenues topped $2.3 billion. The corporation has five major business segments, to include petroleum refining and marketing, energy support services, construction, government services and resource development.
Arctic Slope Regional Corporation is owned by and represents the business interests of the Arctic Slope Iñupiat. Since opening enrollment in 1989 to Alaska Natives born after 1971, the corporation‟s shareholder base has nearly tripled, growing from the 3,700 original enrollees to around 11,000 today. Corporate headquarters are based in Barrow, Alaska, with administrative and subsidiary offices located in Anchorage and throughout the United States.
