Ahtna, Incorporated Names New CEO for Ahtna Netiye’


Anchorage, Alaska – Ahtna, Incorporated is proud to announce that Robert “Bob” Sandt has been named Chief Executive Officer of Ahtna Netiye’, Incorporated. Sandt will be assuming his new position on October 10, 2011.

Sandt, whose selection by the Ahtna, Incorporated board of directors was announced on Thursday, September 29, 2011, brings with him more than 36 years of executive management experience in various roles with national and global companies, including 11 years working with the 8(a) Small Business Administration (SBA) program.

“I cannot adequately express how pleased and honored I am to have the opportunity to join an organization which at its core rests on the rich history, traditions, and culture of the Ahtna people,” Sandt said. “I have every confidence that we will together accomplish many great things which will serve to enrich and enhance the lives of all of our shareholders.”

Nicholas Jackson, Chairman of the Ahtna, Incorporated board of directors, said “the board looked at a lot of qualified candidates and we agreed that Sandt is the right person for this position. He has proven to be successful in government and international contracting and we are happy Bob is bringing that experience to the Ahtna family.”

Sandt holds a Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, Ohio and a Master’s degree in Industrial Management from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia.

Ahtna, Incorporated is one of 13 Alaska Native regional corporations formed under the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act of 1971, serving the Cantwell and Copper River Valley areas. The company currently has more than 1,600 shareholders, who are of Ahtna Athabascan descent, and employs more than 2,000 workers within the US and globally. Ahtna, Netiye’, Incorporated is a newly formed holding company for Ahtna, Incorporated.
