Gregory Semancik, MD,Joins Providence Pediatric Gastroenterology Clinic
Semancik becomes Alaska's only in-state pediatric gastroenterologist
ANCHORAGE, AK - Pediatric gastroenterologist Gregory Semancik, MD, has joined the Providence Pediatric Gastroenterology Clinic. He is Alaska's only in-state pediatric gastroenterologist and is working with The Children's Hospital at Providence. Dr. Semancik will provide care to Alaska's children alongside nurse practitioner Kimberly Longcake, NP.
Dr. Semancik was previously chief of pediatric gastroenterology for Madigan Army Medical Center at Fort Lewis, Wash., where he also performed his internship and residency in pediatrics. He is board certified in pediatric gastroenterology and has a special interest in pediatric inflammatory bowel disease.
He is a recently retired from the US Army, where he served since 1985. Dr. Semancik has practiced medicine around the world, including Germany, Hawaii, and Iraq.

Other pediatric subspecialties supported by Providence through the Pediatric Subspecialty Clinic include: cerebral palsy, cystic fibrosis, endocrinology and nephrology, to name a few. Prior to the Pediatric Subspecialty Clinic, many Alaskan children had to travel outside of the state to receive care from a physician who specialized in these fields.
