Energy Committee Heading to AFN for Hearing
(Anchorage) - The House Special Committee on Energy will receive an update on energy projects and appropriations next week in Fairbanks, coinciding with the annual Alaska Federation of Natives convention.
The hearing, scheduled for Friday, Oct. 22 at 9:00 a.m., will be held in the Syun-Ichi Akasofu Building on the University of Alaska Fairbanks campus.
"Our hearing during AFN last session, the first legislative hearing ever held during the conference, was a tremendous experience to listen and learn from Alaska Natives from across the state," Co-Chair Charisse Millett, R-Anchorage, said. "This year's hearing will be another great opportunity to learn about rural energy issues and to work on solutions in the upcoming session. We look forward to joining them once again in Fairbanks."
