Alaska Federation of Natives Unanimously Endorse Senator Lisa MurkowskiAnchorage, AK- The Alaska Federation of Natives (AFN) today endorsed Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) by a unanimous voice vote. Lisa Murkowski is waging a write-in campaign for U.S. Senate.
“You honor me, you humble me. I will fight for you for as long as I am able,” said Lisa Murkowski upon receiving the endorsement. “I love you all. Thank you.”
AFN is the largest Alaska Native organization in the state. Its membership includes 178 villages (both federally-recognized tribes and village corporations), 13 regional Native corporations and 12 regional nonprofit and tribal consortiums.
Prior to the endorsement vote, Lisa Murkowski addressed the convention.
“As your Senator, I have made a commitment to listen to the Alaska Native community, to travel to your villages, to be engaged in your issues. I am proud to sit on the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs,” said Lisa Murkowski “I will continue to do everything I can to improve life for Alaska Natives in our most remote traditional communities and Alaska’s largest cities.”
