AEDC Marketing Efforts Receive National Honors


The Anchorage Economic Development Corporation received an Excellence in Economic Development Award for its 2009 Annual Report from the International Economic Development Council.

Bill Popp, president and CEO of the economic development corporation accepted the award at a ceremony last month during the IEDC Annual Conference in Columbus, Ohio.

“It’s great to be recognized by our peers for our quality of work,” said Popp. “AEDC is working hard to place Anchorage on the top of the map as the best city to live, work and play and this recognition reinforces that we’re well on our way.”

The AEDC annual report is provided to investors, prospective investors, government agencies, community members, site selection consultants and those seeking information about the business community in Anchorage.

Designed by Anchorage-based marketing agency Walsh Sheppard, inside the report readers find information about the Anchorage economy including employment, population, building values and other economic indicators in a useful at-a-glance format. AEDC also highlights projects and marketing achievements and provides its annual fiscal information along with a description of its services through this report. The winning report was printed locally by PIP Printing.
