Atwood Foundation Recognizes the Loss of Rober (Bob) N. Reeves

It is with great appreciation of service, that the Atwood Foundation respectfully announces the recent passing of Robert (Bob) N. Reeves, President of the Atwood Foundation.Mr. Reeves was named President of the Atwood Foundation in 2003, following the death of Elaine Atwood. As President, Mr. Reeves devoted his efforts to honor the memory of Bob and Evangeline Rasmuson Atwood, and dutifully carried out their mission for the Atwood Foundation. The Foundation was established in 1962, to benefit the people of Anchorage Alaska and vicinity, particularly the young people through assisting financially in the initiation, completion and maintenance of Education and Arts projects. Ed Rasmuson, Chairman of the Atwood Foundation, said, “This week, Alaska has lost a genuine leader and educator. As President of the Atwood Foundation, Bob guided the Foundation’s grant giving to support a wide variety of organizations affiliated with Arts and Education.” While President, Mr. Reeves directed over $1M in annual giving to strengthen the arts and education in Anchorage. He forged and nurtured relationships with others working to make life better in Alaska, and was considered a good friend and advisor to many in the philanthropic sector. He will be remembered with admiration by his colleagues in philanthropy in Alaska and by the many organizations whose work he championed.
