Anchorage Mayor Dan Sullivan will give a review of his first 90 days in office, as well as give an overview of the city's six-year fiscal program, discuss key economic indicators for Anchorage, details on the 2010 proposed Municipal budget and the Mayor's "Energy Watch" campaign. About the Speaker
Mayor Dan Sullivan is a fourth generation Alaskan and the third of nine children of Anchorage pioneers, George and Margaret Sullivan. Sullivan received his B.A. in political science from the University of Oregon and became an Anchorage Assembly member in 1999. He was elected chair of the Anchorage Assembly in 2006, ending his tenure two years later.
Sullivan is the founder and co-owner of McGinley's Pub in downtown Anchorage. Since 1986, he has also been a small business owner of Sullivan & Associates, a firm that specializes in government relations and business development consultancy. In 1996, Sullivan was the executive director of the Arctic Winter Games. He is also a 15-year member of Teamster Local 959, having spent two years working on the Trans Alaska Pipeline.
Sullivan's wife, Lynnette, is an award winning elementary school teacher in Anchorage.
