Alaska Railroad Holiday Trains, departing from Anchorage on Dec. 7 and 14
ANCHORAGE, Alaska – This December, celebrate the holiday season aboard one of the Alaska Railroad’s Holiday Trains. Trains will depart from the Anchorage Historic Depot and travel south along the Turnagain Arm to Indian before returning to Anchorage. Surrounded by snowcapped mountains and immersed the unparalleled beauty of Alaska’s Turnagain Arm, getting into the holiday spirit is made easy aboard the Holiday Trains.
Step aboard one of the Alaska Railroad Holiday Trains, and enter a world of family-friendly holiday splendor. With activities to appeal to guests of all ages, onboard entertainment includes a coloring contest, holiday carolers, a magician, door prizes and even a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus. Complimentary water and snacks will be provided throughout the trip. The only thing guests need to bring is a camera to capture all of the family memories made aboard the Holiday Train.
Due to popular demand, there are four opportunities to experience the joy of the holiday season aboard the Alaska Railroad. There will be morning and afternoon departures Saturday, Dec. 7 and Saturday, Dec. 14. The morning trains depart Anchorage at 10 a.m., and arrive back at 12:30 p.m.; and the afternoon trains depart Anchorage at 2 p.m., and arrive back at 4:30 p.m. Tickets are $49 for adults, $29 for children ages two to 11. Infants under age two who require a seat will need to purchase a child’s ticket; however, there is no fee for children ages zero to 23 months who are considered “infant in lap.”
