Legislators Ask for Input on Improving Services for Alaska’s Veterans and Active Military Members
ANCHORAGE- Senator Bill Wielechowski (D-Anchorage) and Representatives Dan Saddler (R-Eagle River), Gabrielle LeDoux (R-Anchorage) and Max Gruenberg (D-Anchorage) are hosting a town hall meeting on Tuesday, November 5th, to discuss how to improve state services for Alaska’s veterans and active-duty military members.
“This meeting is an opportunity for Alaskans to talk about concerns, issues and ideas that can improve the quality of life for veterans and members of the military,” said Senator Wielechowski.
Alaska is home to more than 77,000 veterans and 23,000 active duty military. “The military is a cornerstone in our state, and it is critical that we figure out ways to provide the best services,” said Representative Saddler.
“The Legislature has great concerns about the lack of civilian jobs and the quality of health care returning veterans are receiving,” said Rep. Gruenberg. “This meeting will give us a chance to learn more about these problems and find solutions for them.”
