R&M Adds Hydrology to Service Offerings

R&M CONSULTANTS, INC. (R&M) has expanded our service offerings to include hydrology and hydraulics services with the addition of Hans Arnett to our Anchorage office team. 

R&M now offers a full spectrum of hydrology and hydraulics services in support of surface transportation, airport engineering, site development, and industrial projects. R&M’s hydrology team provides expertise across all stages of project development – from pre-project planning and concept development through design, construction, and post-construction monitoring. Our team offers a wealth of Alaska-specific hydrology experience, having worked on projects in literally every major geographic region of Alaska – from the Aleutian Chain to the North Slope to the Interior to Southeast.

Hans Arnett joined the R&M team as a Senior Hydrologist in February 2012. Hans has more than 20 years of hydrologic and hydraulic experience in Alaska. His work has included hydrologic and hydraulic calculations, including water surface profile modeling and fish passage analyses; stream bed and bridge scour estimation; erosion and bank mitigation studies; flood studies; field data collection; storm water run-off analysis and modeling; oversight and quality assurance of hydrologic and hydraulic work products; stream relocation projects; erosion control design assistance; low water crossing hydraulics; and basin analyses. Hans holds a M.S. in Geology from the University of Alaska Fairbanks and a B.S. in Geology from Montana State University.

Since joining R&M, Hans has been a key team member on several projects including: Bradley Lake Battle Creek Diversion, Big Delta Boat Launch, Aleknagik Wood River Bridge, Allison Creek Hydroelectric project, and the Chikuminik Hydroelectric project,.

Founded in Alaska in 1969, R&M offers civil, structural, geotechnical, and waterfront engineering; surveying and mapping; geographic information system (GIS) services; geology; hydrology; environmental services; transportation, community, and land use planning; construction administration; materials testing; and special inspection. R&M has offices in Anchorage and Fairbanks.
