Douglas Oles and Traeger Machetanz of Oles Morrison Rinker & Baker, LLP Named to List of Best Lawyers By U.S. News and Best Lawyers
SEATTLE, Washington, Nov. 7, 2012 – Oles Morrison Rinker & Baker, LLP has announced that two of the firm’s partners, Douglas Oles and Traeger Machetanz, have been selected for inclusion in the Best Lawyers in America® 2013, (Copyright 2012 by Woodward/White, Inc., of Aiken, SC), which is the most respected peer-review publication in the legal profession.
First published in 1983, Best Lawyers is based on an exhaustive annual peer-review survey. For the new U.S. edition, more than 50% of the lawyers listed in Best Lawyers cast more than three million votes on the legal abilities of other lawyers in the same and related specialties.
For more than 25 years, Oles has concentrated his practice on helping clients avoid and resolve disputes on complex contracts relating to construction, supply, real estate development and intellectual property licensing. He has prepared, negotiated and litigated claims resulting in recoveries in excess of $100 million on major projects performed for government agencies and private owners. Most of his work has been in the western United States and Alaska, but assignments have ranged from Europe to South America. He first appeared on the Best Lawyers list in 2003.
Machetanz’s practice focuses on construction and government contracting in Alaska and other states and countries where his clients perform work, including Korea and Iraq. He is a “soup to nuts” contract practitioner, providing services ranging from contract drafting to, where necessary, resolving contract disputes. On behalf of his clients, he appears in state and federal courts and arbitration panels in Alaska, as well as Boards of Contract Appeal in Washington D.C. He first appeared on the Best Lawyers list in 2006.
“We are delighted to have two of our partners acknowledged by their peers as being among the nation’s very best lawyers,” said Bob Burke, one of the firm’s managing partners.
With offices in Washington, Alaska and California, Oles Morrison Rinker & Baker, LLP has practice areas in construction litigation, government contracts and public procurement. The firm represents both national and international clients on projects in the United States and abroad. The Oles Morrison attorneys, with the assistance of a seasoned team of in-house consultants and paralegals, provide advice on issues arising from requests for proposals and invitations to bid, through protests, requests for equitable adjustments, disputes and terminations.
