Arts Grants Funds Available
The Municipality of Anchorage invites community arts organizations to apply for grant funding for the 2013 calendar year. Through this funding, the Municipality promotes public-private cooperation in arts projects. It is anticipated that approximately $137,500 in funds will be available for the 2013 fiscal year.
In order to be considered for funding, applications must be received by the Mayor’s Office in City Hall by Friday, December 14, 2012 at 5:00p.m. The Municipality’s Arts Advisory Commission reviews grant applications in January and makes recommendations to the Mayor. The Mayor presents his requests for funding to the Assembly for appropriation.
According to Arts Advisory Commission chair, Lee Holmes, “Applicants are encouraged to attend a question and answer session after the Commission’s December 3rd regular meeting. The regular meeting begins at 5:30p.m. It’s anticipated that normal business will conclude at 6:30p.m. Therefore, the question and answer session should begin around 6:30p.m. The meeting will be in the Assembly Conference Room (#155) at City Hall.”
