Anchorage Economic Development Corp. Announces Promotion, New Hire
The Anchorage Economic Development Corp. recently promoted Jon Bittner to vice president and hired Valerie Lindstam as communications director.

In his new position at AEDC, Bittner will be responsible for day to day operations of the organization as well as developing new projects and initiatives that will drive the organization forward. Bittner has been successfully bolstering AEDC’s efforts to provide resources to businesses in Anchorage and those interested in relocating to or expanding in the city. Since joining AEDC in 2011, he has developed national and international outreach programs to attract new businesses and industries to Alaska as well as worked to grow existing local businesses. Bittner’s previous work as new business and economic development director makes him uniquely qualified for the position of vice president.
Prior to joining AEDC, Lindstam was an account executive at MSI Communications. While there, Lindstam provided account service and support for clients in the transportation, energy and tourism industries. She also hasprevious experience as a graphic designer.
AEDC is a private, nonprofit membership organization developed in 1987 to encourage growth and to diversify the Anchorage economy. The organization has more than 235 investors, which represent all industries in Anchorage and Alaska.
