Crafts Weekend returns Thanksgiving weekend with premium Alaska-made crafts

The Anchorage Museum’s annual Crafts Weekend returns for its 23rd year with handmade art by nearly 50 artists. Buy local, save money and beat the holiday rush when Anchorage’s premier juried holiday craft show happens Thanksgiving weekend at 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 25-26 and noon to 5 p.m. Nov. 27. Admission is free.
The museum carefully selects every artist at Crafts Weekend, so visitors are guaranteed to find authentic, hand-crafted work. Shoppers may peruse Alaska-made jewelry, wearable art, pottery, ornaments and more by artists such as Sonya Kelliher-Combs, Lisa McCormick, Marvin Niemeyer and Ken Lisbourne.
Crafts Weekend runs in conjunction with the annual ReadAlaska Book Fair, a fun way to meet Alaska’s authors, illustrators and publishers and have books personalized. Highlights include a reading and book signing by Jeff King, four-time Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race winner, at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26.
A portion of event sales supports the Anchorage Museum, a nonprofit organization.
