Coast Guard conducts overflight of Alaska villages post storm
BERING SEA - Coast Guard, FEMA and Alaska State Homeland Security and Emergency Management representatives over fly more than 15 villages along the western coast of Alaska in an HC-130 Hercules airplane from Air Station Kodiak following a severe storm Nov. 10, 2011.
The Coast Guard positioned additional resources in Western Alaska in advance of the storm but they were not needed to respond to any distress situations and have since been returned back to their home stations.

Deer piloted an Air Station Kodiak HC-130 Hercules airplane on an overflight to check for any damage from the recent storm in the region.

BERING STRAIT - An Air Station Kodiak HC-130 Hercules aircrew flew over more than 15 villages along the western coast of Alaska to check for any damage from a severe storm Nov. 10, 2011.
The Hercules crew conducted the overflight with representatives from FEMA and Alaska State Homeland Security and Emergency Management aboard.

Without shore-fast ice along the coast the villages are at risk of coastal erosion and damage from storm surges created by a recent severe storm.
