Associated General Contractors Elect Officers

Fairbanks Contractor Named President

 

Anchorage, AK. – Tony Johansen, vice president of Great Northwest in Fairbanks, has been elected president of the Associated General Contractors (AGC) of Alaska for 2012 at the Association’s annual meeting here last week.

Johansen will serve for the next calendar year along with the executive board composed of John Eng, Cornerstone Construction, Anchorage, Vice Presient; Kevin Welker, Kiewit Building Group, Anchorage, Secretary; Brian Horschel, ACME Fence Co., Anchorage, Treasurer; Meg Nordale,Ghemm Company, Fairbanks, Contractor-at-Large; Terri Gunter, Senco Alaska, Anchorage, Associate Member; and George Tuckness, Neeser Construction, Anchorage, Immediate Past President.

The Associated General Contractors of Alaska is a 650-member, statewide association for companies in the construction/contracting business including building, highways/utilities, heavy industrial and specialty areas. Construction is the third largest industry in Alaska, contributing more than $7 billion to the Alaska Economy, paying the second highest wages, with more than 21,000 in the work force.
