Rep. Young Commends Our Nation’s VeteransWashington, D.C. - Alaskan Congressman Don Young (U.S. Army 1955-1957) released the following statement in recognition of our Nation's veterans:
"Our Veterans are the very fabric of the flag of our nation and all it represents. Throughout our country's relatively short history, Americans have defined honor, patriotism, valor, selflessness, and tenacity through an unwavering demand to remain a sovereign, free people.
"This attitude of honor, sacrifice, and duty of an American veteran is not just celebrated on November 11th, in America, but everyday by millions of free people around the world.
"I wholeheartedly thank all of our brave service members, veterans, and their families for every benefit and freedom that we enjoy as Americans, and especially thank those serving in Iraq and Afghanistan today. We must never forget the cost of our freedoms so that we never compromise our most precious gift. I am honored to have served among the ranks of the finest the world has known. Remember to thank every soldier past and present who has chosen to serve this country and its people, to keep us the strong union that we are.
"Thank you and God bless our Veterans and our great nation."
