The American Academy of Family Physicians is the national association for family doctors. It is one of the largest national medical organizations, with more than 94,600 members in all 50 states. The mission of the AAFP is to improve the health of patients, families and communities by serving the needs of members with professionalism and creativity.

Dr. Doty graduated with a bachelor's degree in zoology from Washington State University in Pullman, Wash. She earned her medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine and completed her family medicine residency at the University of Colorado Family Practice Residency. Dr. Doty has completed fellowship programs in rural medicine, integrative medicine and faculty development. She is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and is also a certified medical acupuncturist.
