Anchorage, Alaska – Nov. 1, 2010 – Sadly, many individuals don't take the time to educate themselves about scams until after they've been victimized.

Stay ahead of the cons at SCAM JAM 2010:

Attend Scam Jam, a free anti-fraud seminar on detecting and avoiding common marketplace scams. Hear from Better Business Bureau and these consumer-protection experts:

AARP Alaska

Ann Secrest, Director of Communications, will speak about "Identity Theft & Weapons of Fraud."

Anchorage Police Department

Det. Sgt. Ronald Tidler and Det. Cynthia Bradley, of the Burglary Unit, will speak about "2010 Electronic Fraud Trends in Anchorage."

Admission is FREE. Everyone is welcome. Attendees can get answers to anti-fraud questions and take home useful tips on how to protect themselves and their families from common schemes.
