Area Exec Appointed Regional Vice President of Leading International Real Estate Organization


(Chicago, Nov. 1, 2010) Laura Brooks Cantrell, CPM® and broker with Wiley Brooks Co., Inc., Anchorage, AK, has been appointed a regional vice president of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM®). She will serve a two-year term beginning immediately, with oversight for the activities of  IREM® chapters in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, and Wyoming.

In her position with Wiley Brooks, Cantrell oversees the leasing, management, and day-to-day operations and maintenance of office, retail, warehouse, and office and medical condominium properties for a select group of clients.  Her duties also include project management and the oversight of tenant and capital improvements as well as monitoring real estate contracts and leases.

Cantrell has been licensed in real estate since 1988 and has 26 years experience in real estate-related fields and 21 years experience in the building maintenance and construction fields. Her expertise includes, sales, leasing and property management of REO bank and state-owned properties, residential and commercial properties, and raw land and development properties.

Cantrell has long been active in IREM’s Alaska Chapter No. 97, and served as chapter president from 2005 to 2007.  The chapter honored her in both 2005 and 2006 as its “Certified Property Manager® (CPM®)” of the year. In addition to her participation in IREM, Cantrell is an active member of the local chapter of the Building Owners and Managers Association, and a member of the Anchorage Downtown Partnership Board.
