Alaska DMV Opens Downtown Anchorage Office

Opening Set for Tuesday, November 9

(Anchorage) – The Alaska Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) will open its new office in the Linny Pacillo Parking Garage at 517 W. 7th Avenue, Suite 200 in downtown Anchorage on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at 10:00 am.

The opening of this office coincides with the closing of the DMV office on Fairbanks Street in Anchorage.  The new downtown office will allow a more central location for residents and provide easier access to those who may be coming to Anchorage from across the state for major events, such as the Alaska Federation of Natives convention and Fur Rondy celebration.

Customers will be able to register and title vehicles as well as obtain driver licenses and identification cards.  With the exception of road tests, all DMV services will be available at the downtown office.  Road tests can still be taken at the 1300 W. Benson Blvd. DMV office.

The new downtown office will be open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Parking will be available on the second floor of the Linny Pacillo Parking Garage free of charge for DMV’s customers when customers present a validation ticket.
