SUPERFREAKONOMICS Comes to Anchorage
AEDC Annual Forecast Luncheon headlined by author, Stephen Dubner
The Anchorage Economic Development Corporation will host “SUPERFREAKONOMICS” author, Stephen Dubner, as guest speaker for the AEDC 2010 Annual Forecast Luncheon on Jan. 27, at the Dena’ina Civic and Convention Center. The noon event is open to the public and will include a look back at the 2009 Anchorage economy and forecast for 2010 by AEDC.
“We’re pleased to host such a dynamic speaker that is making headlines across the nation,” said Bill Popp, president and CEO of AEDC. “Dubner has spent the past four years researching his latest book and has an uncanny ability to explain, with simplicity, the complex issue that is on all of our minds – the economy.”
“SUPERFREAKONOMICS” is the follow-up to Dubner and Steven Levitt’s New York Times bestseller “FREAKONOMICS.” The book, released Oct. 20, is a collection of stories inspired by engineers and astrophysicists, psychotic killers and emergency-room doctors, amateur historians and transgender neuroscientists.
Dubner’s media tour for “SUPERFREAKONOMICS” includes guest appearances on Good Morning America, ABC’s 20/20, Charlie Rose, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, Bloomberg Radio and National Public Radio.
Ticket prices start at $45 and are available online at aedcweb.com or by calling AEDC at 258-3700.
AEDC, a private, non-profit corporation, operating since 1987, promotes growth and diversity in the Anchorage economy, and works to improve the business climate and standard of living in Anchorage. For more information, go to www.aedcweb.com.
