Governor Picks Wilson for District 11 Seat
(Fairbanks) - Governor Sean Parnell has picked North Pole Republican
Tammie Wilson to fill the House District 11 seat vacancy.
Interior Republicans are lining up their support for Wilson. "Tammie
Wilson has demonstrated an ability to get out amongst voters, and
reflects the values and passions of her constituents," said
Representative Jay Ramras of District 10. "Tammie has the ability to
fill the shoes left by Senator Coghill."
More support was voiced by another Interior Republican. "I called to
congratulate Tammie on her appointment by Governor Parnell and told
her that I look forward to working with her in Juneau when the
legislature starts up in January," added Representative Mike Kelly of
"I wish to congratulate Tammie on her appointment. The next step
after this is confirmation," said House Speaker Mike Chenault. "The
Majority awaits the opportunity to learn more about Ms. Wilson and her
record of service. We join the Governor in thanking North Pole
Republicans for a speedy and open process, and hope to release our
decision in a speedy manner, as well."
