Delegation Announces Grants to Alaska ProgramsWashington, D.C. - The Alaska Congressional Delegation is pleased to announce the following grants awarded to communities in the state of Alaska:
U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
- $160,000 to the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC) for an environmental justice project to establish an early notification protocol for the Alaska Pollution Disposal and Elimination System permitting program.
U.S. Department of Labor
- $800,000 to the Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development to survey Alaska's current green job capacity, supply, and demand. Funding will be used to enhance Alaska's online labor exchange to enable green-related jobs searches. Funding is provided by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
- $67,268 to the Cook Inlet Tribal Council, Inc. to enhance the YouthBuild program for green job training for Alaska Native or American Indian youths. Funding is provided by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
U.S. Department of Transportation
- $149,553 to the State of Alaska to support state highway safety programs. Funding provided by SAFETEA-LU.
