Alaskan Heritage Coffee Brown Ale was awarded a gold medal today at the Great American Beer Festival (GABF) in Denver, Colorado. There were 89 entrants in the Coffee Beer category this year.
The limited edition 2017 vintage of Alaskan Brewing Co.’s Alaskan Smoked Porter is now released, just weeks after the previous year’s vintage received a Gold Award for Strong Smoke Beer at the European Beer Star Awards. Smoked beers have gained in popularity in the United States over the past several decades, but were virtually unheard of prior to the late ‘80’s.

Alyeska Tire was honored on September 18, 2017, at the Top Shop Award event in Nashville, Tennessee. Tire dealers from California, Illinois, and North Carolina were among the finalists.
Administrator Linda McMahon, head of the U.S. Small Business Administration, today announced the launch of Lender Match, the SBA’s online referral tool connecting small business borrowers with participating SBA lenders. Lender Match is an upgrade to LINC (Leveraging Information and Networks to access Capital), introduced as a pilot in 2015.
The Nominating Committee of the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) has elected Michael Catsi, CEcD Business Development & Communications Director Alaska Industrial Development and Export Authority (AIDEA), to its Board of Directors for a two-year term. The election took place during IEDC's 2017 Annual Conference, held September 17-20, 2017 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Michael Catsi, CEcD will begin his two-year term in January 2018.
