Mayor Sullivan Announces His Commitment to Participate in the HUD Sponsored Mayor’s Challenge to End Veteran Homelessness by 2015
HUD Region X Administrator Mr. Bill Block who is visiting Anchorage, will join Mayor Dan Sullivan and the Alaska VA to highlight progress in ending homelessness in Anchorage and acknowledge the city’s commitment to the ongoing effort to end homelessness and expand affordable housing throughout the community.
Additionally, Mayor Sullivan will announce his commitment to participate in the HUD sponsored Mayor’s Challenge to End Veteran Homelessness by 2015.
Currently, we have 125 Veteran’s Affairs Supportive Housing (VASH) vouchers utilized throughout Anchorage providing safe and secure housing for our veterans.
Homelessness is a complex issue, for Veterans and non-veterans. The Municipality of Anchorage will continue to work with our community partners, including the VA and HUD in dealing with this issue. ” said Mayor Sullivan.
