Fairbanks Manufacturer Announces Distribution Arrangement with Alaska Hardware Chain
GripAll, a Fairbanks-based manufacturer of peel & stick traction products XtremeGrip and LavaGrip, announced on Friday plans with Alaska Industrial Hardware (AIH) to stock the anti-slip adhesives in the chain of hardware stores. In addition to the in-store availability, the arrangement also makes GripAll products available for purchase through AIH’s website.
With eight AIH locations throughout Alaska, the arrangement is the largest in-state retail distribution arrangement to date for the Fairbanks manufacturer, whose traction products were originally developed for use in Alaska’s oil & gas industry. Maintaining strong ties to the 49th state remains a focus for GripAll, and the AIH stocking plan is an exciting opportunity for both companies.
Jeff Clapp, AIH’s director of supply chain operations, emphasized the strong Alaska connection tying the two companies. He said, “Alaska Industrial Hardware is proud to team up with another Alaskan owned and operated company to provide our customers with a superior Alaskan made product."
Clapp also cited GripAll’s strong Alaska track record as a factor in the stocking deal. "We saw this product in use over the last couple of years on the Valdez Harbor ramps. We were very impressed with how well it worked and held up in the high use rugged environment,” he said.
GripAll’s president, Chris Huffman, was pleased with the arrangement between the two Alaska-based companies. He said, "It is extremely rewarding to see our products carried by a company that has more than 50 years’ experience serving Alaska. I look forward to GripAll and AIH building a strong relationship to best meet the needs of Alaskans."
As part of the stocking arrangement, GripAll will be participating in the AIH Truckload Sale. This three day sale will take place May 7-10 in Anchorage at AIH’s store at 5655 Old Seward Highway.
