Chugach Hires Corporate General Counsel Melanie Osborne

(Anchorage, Alaska) – Chugach Alaska Corporation (Chugach) has hired Melanie Osborne as its new corporate general counsel. Osborne will be responsible for providing legal guidance to Chugach’s board of directors and executive leadership team, and legal oversight across the entire Chugach family of companies.
Prior to joining Chugach, Osborne was vice president and deputy general counsel at Nana Development Corporation, advising on matters involving corporate governance, contracts, employment law, compliance and litigation. She has garnered more than 12 years of experience with Alaska Native Corporations (ANC) including serving as vice president and general counsel for Ahtna, Inc. and providing counsel to various ANCs as an attorney at Stoel Rives LLP and Sonosky, Chambers, Sachse, Miller and Munson LLP.

Osborne holds a law degree from the University of Washington and a bachelor’s degree in justice and psychology from the University of Alaska Anchorage.
