SEATTLE — Alaska Airlines has signed a contract extension spanning through 2016 for the title naming rights of the Seafair Torchlight Parade. Alaska Airlines, the "Official Airline of Seafair Torchlight Night", has been a festival partner since 2009.

"Alaska Airlines has been an integral part of the festival for the last four years," said Beth Knox, President & CEO of Seafair. "Seafair is proud to be associated with a company rooted in our region's history and committed to supporting community celebrations. The involvement from the company is incredible, hundreds of employees participate via multiple parade entries and as volunteers."

The Alaska Airlines Seafair Torchlight Parade will take place on Sat., July 27, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. It is one of the most iconic events of the summer, drawing over 150,000 spectators to the downtown Seattle area. Starting at the Seattle Center and continuing down 4th Avenue to Westlake Center, the Torchlight Parade features floats, marching bands, drill teams and giant balloons representing communities from around the state, and beyond.

"With Seattle roots going back more than five decades, Alaska Airlines is honored to be associated with this festival cherished by our community and employees," said Joe Sprague, Alaska Airlines' vice president of marketing.

Sprague said the Torchlight Parade is one of the company's most popular employee volunteer events. Each year the event attracts more than 300 volunteers from both Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air,
