NeighborWorks® Anchorage is seeking Nominations for Paint the Town 2013!

As part of a nationwide initiative, NeighborWorks® Anchorage will participate in NeighborWorks® Week from May 31 – June 8, 2013. Across the United States, community housing organizations partner with community groups, sponsors, and volunteers who perform neighborhood enhancement projects.  NeighborWorks® Anchorage will be one of 250 community agencies participating in this great event.

We need your help to make this program a success.  Please help our neighbors by nominating those that need a little assistance.  For more information visit our website and complete the nomination form located at www.nwanchorage.org.

What:     To continue our tradition of building a better community, NeighborWorks® Anchorage is spearheading Paint the Town the first week in June as our NeighborWorks® Week project.  Paint the Town organizers recruit volunteers and sponsors to paint homes for single parents, seniors, veterans, military personnel, people with disabilities and homeowners with limited capacity.  Our community volunteer teams have painted 105 homes over the previous six years in neighborhoods across the city.  In 2013, our goal is to paint an additional 15 homes; we will coordinate supplies, volunteers and help with the expertise needed to paint homes this summer.

When:    Friday, May 31 through Saturday, June 8, 2013

Where:   15 homes throughout Anchorage and Eagle River

Why:      NeighborWorks® Anchorage is a non-profit organization, celebrating over 31 years of service to the Anchorage community.  We offer quality affordable rental housing for a variety of Anchorage residents.  We provide pre-purchase counseling, home loans, grants for repairs and accessibility and new construction services.  We believe in strong neighborhoods through housing and community engagement.
